Today was our 4th annual UBC Nordic Ski Fundraiser race at Cypress Mountain. This race raises funds to help the UBC team travel to Nationals and is part of our commitment to Cypress in return for sponsoring our trail passes. We held a 16km and 8km race on a hilly course. Slightly lower turnout this year meant that almost everyone racing or volunteering got a cool draw prize. Organizationally, this was one of our best and smoothest run races yet thanks to the UBC skiers, Different Bikes employees, and Ski Patrollers who volunteered on the course. UBC skiers Rob Ragotte and Solen Roth were crowned City Champions. I got in a full day of skiing first setting the course, then timing, and then picking up all the course signage. All in all – a good day.
